Singles Luv - Vannam Vanam

Soo today is the day that I feel half the world dreads and the other half looks forward to. It’s Valentine’s Day! But today, we’re not going to focus on the couples that reveal themselves today, though I do personally quite enjoy seeing all the new tea updates. But rather today, our segment is for all single people out there *cringe*.

There are quite a few many songs for single people in Tamil and Telugu, so today we’re going to playing some of our favorites. Most of these songs basically defined our childhood, so we hope you enjoy them too!

Today's Playlist:

Single Pasanga - Natpe Thunai (2019 sports film) [Tamil]

  • Composer: Hiphop Tamizha
  • Singers: Ka Ka Balachander, Gana Ulagam Dharani, Arivu
  • Lyricist: Arivu
  • Movie title Natpe Thunai means “Friendship is Guidance”
  • Song name Single Pasange translates to “Single Guys/Boys”
  • This song is the epitome of our show today, as it’s quite literally in the title itself, so it was very fitting indeed to be the first song of today's segment.

Chaila Chaila - Shankar dada MBBS [Telugu]

  • KK, Chiranjeevi (Dialogues),  Devi Sri Prasad(Lyrics, Music)
  • This song comes at a point in the movie where a boy at the hospital was ready to take his life due to a breakup, but the main character of the movie sings this song to tell him about his own heartbreak to explain that love is just a part of life but it is not all of life.

Udhungada Sangu - Vellai Illa Pattadhaari (VIP) (2014 action comedy film) [Tamil]

  • Composer: Anirudh Ravichander
  • Singer: Anirudh Ravichander
  • Lyricist: Dhanush
  • The movie title Vellai Illa Pattadhaari translates to “The Unemployed Graduate”, which I feel speaks to many of us, especially in our current job market, but ahh enough of the reality-checks
  • The song name Udhungada Sangu means “Blow the Conch”, So it’s basically used to announce his arrival
    • Hey, I’ve arrived. Sound the conch!
  • This song is basically a cult-favorite of our generation. Like it’s just THE single song of the nation. Even if you’re not single. This is just THE #1 heartbreak song that will have the ENTIRE nation come together and cry and sing or whatever

We Have Romeo - Bommarillu [Telugu]

  • Ranjith, Andrea Jeremiah, DSP, Chandrabose

Enakenna Yaarum Illaye - Aakko (VIP) (2015 comedy film) [Tamil]

  • The composer, singer, and lyricist is all Anirudh Ravichander.
  • Movie title Aakko (Acronym for "Aarva Kolaru", meaning "Enthusiastic Youngster")
  • Song name Enakenna Yaarum Illaye translates to "There’s no one for me"
  • Compared to the first two songs, this one is definitely a lot sadder. It depicts the deep melancholy and longing of a man, left alone by the love of his life.

Voddura Sodara - Manmadhudu [Telugu]

  • SPB, DSP, Sirivennela Sitarama Sastry
  • The main character hates women and obviously he has a whole changeover throughout the movie, but in the beginning of the movie at least, he is a full on hater.
