Today's rendition of Velvet featured a London group that is making strides in the UK jazz scene, Kokoroko. They are more than just jazz instrumentals. They combine soulful vocals with elements of R&B and funk while staying true to their Afrobeat and Highlife roots. I recently saw Kokoroko last Thursday in Atlanta at Buckhead Theater, and they were just as good live as they are in studio.
