about us

WREK is the student owned and operated Georgia Tech radio station, broadcasting 24/7 at 91.1 FM with 40,000 Watts of power into Atlanta's atmosphere, and streaming MP3 onto the Internet (running 7-day archive, too!)

station history

WREK has been broadcasting since March 25th, 1968 (really, we promise). Since then, names, faces, and clothing fashions may have changed, but the stationwide philosophy of providing quality radio broadcasts to the Atlanta area and the world at large has remained unwavering.

articles from the press

The AJC has done some articles on us, but the links keep breaking because they want to charge you for the pleasure of reading their articles after a week or so:

If you are a journalist looking to do a piece on WREK, feel free to contact our publicity director (contact the GM if you get no response). Also, we have high quality images of our logo (both raster and vector formats) available for download if you need them.
