WREK Programming for Friday
Making Contact (Noon - 12:30 PM)
A talk show far enough to the left to make Ralph Nader nervous. The folks at
Making Contact will give you their slant on just about any social issue you
can think. Tune in and have something interesting to say at your next
cocktail party.

This Way Out (12:30 pm - 1:00 pm)
Since 1988, the award-winning This Way Out has been devoted to
issues and concerns of the gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender communities.
Listen in for a 10-minute summary of significant news in or affecting sexual
minority communities around the world. Conversations with writers, filmmakers,
musical performers and other entertainers, news feature stories, humor,
poetry, media criticism, historical retrospectives and other production
features round out each half-hour.

Friday Night Fish Fry (5 - 7pm)
Ready to party when you get off of work on Friday evening after a long
week? Instead of listening to the top 40, listen to music you can really
boogie to, the blues. The Friday Night Fish Fry brings you the best selections
of blues every Friday evening. Jeremy, and anyone else who happens to be in
the studio, will serve up music from Robert Johnson, John Lee Hooker, Muddy
Waters, Blind Willie McTell, Johnny Winter, as well as some of today's
greatest players. Also, listen in for special live performances from
local Atlanta artists that will have you cuttin' a rug in no time. For more
information e-mail Jeremy at
fridaynightfishfry@hotmail.com.
Classic Rock Album (7 - 8 pm)
Every week, the Stonehenge hosts madly scour the dusty WREK record library,
their own record collections, used music stores, and occasionally other
hippies' personal stashes for the perfect LP. Often, that means you'll hear
obscure and forgotten bands - all for the sake of keeping free love and,
more importantly, free music alive. Tune in and warm up those synapses
for Stonehenge.
Stonehenge (8 - 10 PM)
Blowing your mind every week, your host Tim plays the music that
really existed back in the sixties and seventies, not just "Rock-N-Roll
Hoochie Koo" and "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road." Fight the historical
revisionism of those commercial classic rock stations by tuning into
Stonehenge. It's one heavy trip.
WREKAGE (10pm - 6am)
We kick ass every Friday night to start off your week-long party with enough
Death Metal, Black Metal, Heavy Metal, Thrash Metal, Progressive Metal, Noise
and brutality give you a headache until Monday morning. We play bands all over
the spectrum like Dimmu Borgir, Cradle of Filth, Children of Bodom, Opeth,
Morbid Angel, Deicide, Suffocation and even a load of Slayer when we really
can't think of anything to do. We try to take care of the locals too, hopefully
you know who they are, and to mention show annoucements to keep you
posted on what you want to see. Enough said.
Check out the WREKAGE Website.
